American rap star Snoop Dogg recently played a concert in Zagreb, Croatia as part of his European tour, which next plays on September 24th in Dublin. The hip-hop star brought the Dom Sportiva hall to life with some 10,000 fans packed in and having a great time on the 9th of September, according to news reports.
Snoop Dogg performed old and new hits as he promotes his latest and ninth album Ego Trippin. The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Junior, got his stage name from his mother, who once compared him to the comic book character Snoopy. This was his first performance in Croatia and it was a major event for the country. It also occurred the evening prior to the England-Croatia World Cup Qualifier football match, so it made for a big couple of days in the Zagreb.
Snoop Dogg plays in Dublin on the 24th and it will be the best chance for UK residents to see him in Europe this year. He has been denied entry into the UK for the foreseeable future due to legal problems and an incident he was involved with at Heathrow in the past, so it doesn’t look like he will be visiting any time soon. Snoop plays in Dublin at the RDS theatre beginning at 19:00. He then finishes his European tour in Milan, Italy at the Palasharp on the 25th of September.
It seems that these type of high profile events help maintain Croatias popular image amongst international visitors and those in search of a home overseas
