InterContinental Hotels has just reopened its Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat, Oman after extensive renovations. The restoration work to the luxury property located just outside the capital city and on the shores of the Gulf of Oman was comprehensive. The work involved redoing and upgrading the lobby, beach and garden area, sports facilities and most of the guest rooms and suites.

In addition to the renovations to the existing property, a new concept restaurant was added to the property. Acclaimed Australian chef Shannon Bennett is opening the VUE Restaurant, his first venture outside of his home country.

“This is the result of a great deal of hard work, incredible craftsmanship and fastidious planning. Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat is an icon in luxury accommodation and this reopening is a major milestone in the hotel’s 23 year history,” said Tony Zamora Director of Operations IHG Oman and General Manager, Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat. “Each aspect of this reformation has been carefully coordinated and observed to ensure guests are in-awe from the moment they walk through the door.”

The Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat is owned by the Government of Oman, and its design offers a distinctive blend of historical Oman fused with contemporary concepts, creating a holiday destination that reflects the individual culture of the country.
