Island open for overseas property business

Anyone looking for something a little bit different in the world of overseas property may wish to consider the island of La Gomera, just south of the well-known holiday destination of Tenerife.

In addition to the late sun that persuades people to but property abroad in the south of France or Spain, La Gomera also has the prestige of being first discovered by the great explorer Christopher Columbus.

Now Haven Overseas is offering a selection of offplan property on the island, scheduled to be completed by 2008.

The townhouses in the new development all have all have sea views and easy access to a nearby golf course. Each house in the development has two bedrooms, with a terrace, garden and garage and the option of a rooftop solarium.

The normal price for one of the apartments is between €197,000 and €267,000, but the first 50 people to buy property benefit from a discounted rate of €185,000.

Agent Denis Sullivan said he “had never heard of La Gomera” before being made aware of the new development, adding “the contrast with nearby Tenerife could not be greater”.

“La Gomera is for those who want to get away from it all.”
