If youââ¬â¢re having problems finding the perfect Turkish holiday home, then why not consider building one yourself. Thatââ¬â¢s the new advice to buyers looking for their ideal Turkish holiday home as more and more Brits seek to buy in the booming country.
In locations such as the Turkish Mediterranean and Aegean costs, more and more Brits are custom building their holiday getaways.
Number of custom built properties on the rise
A leading Turkish property expert, Cameron Deggin, has found that buyers purchasing land with a view to designing and building their own bespoke home is on the increase. The main area attracting foreign buyers is the coastal stretch from the marina town of Kas to Gocek on the south west coast.
This area covers Fethiye, Kalkan, Patara, Bayindir, the Kas peninsula and Gocek.
Four reasons that buyers are building their own Turkish holiday homes
Mr Deggin identifies four main reasons why Brits are looking to design their own homes:
÷ Existing properties not appealing to potential buyers
÷ Increased buyers wanting seafront locations thanks to boat and yacht mooring requirements
÷ Buyers looking for very private, secluded areas without any mass development ââ¬â ruling out more established holiday resorts including Hisaronu and Calis
÷ Government restrictions on developing seafront locations that prohibit the mass building of property
Mr Deggin added that although it can be tough to find private plots with planning consent, it is not impossible. He said: “There are still some hidden areas and historic planning consents around that the government cannot revoke. The trick is finding these and building on them without spoiling the surrounding nature and opening the gates to many others to follow. The idea is long term privacy.ââ¬Â
So, if you are looking for the perfect Turkish property investment, why not consider searching for a piece of land and building your own?
