Egypt’s Information Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) noted a recent analysis that shows Egypt is in a very good position to take advantage of the global outsourcing boom. The country’s young population, sustainable and abundant talent pool, university graduates, tech-savvy population and geographical position will help to make it a leader as businesses continue to outsource many activities in the years to come.

The report was developed by the research firm Yankee Group and is entitled Can Middle Eastern Counties Fulfill the Eastern Promise. It examines the strengths and weaknesses of Middle Eastern markets, including the UAE, Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as potential outsourcing locales. The report highlights Egypt as the only Middle Eastern country that is currently developing a significant number of technical graduates.

“Our national ICT sector is emerging as a role model of deregulation and privatization as well as a catalyst for reform in other sectors,” said Dr. Hazem Abdelazim, CEO of Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency.  “The sector has managed to maintain growth rates of up to 20 percent and attract local and foreign investments of more than US$8 billion over the past three years.”
