Celebrity Real Estate Security Upsets The Locals

In a bid to increase both privacy and security Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman has upset neighbours at her Australian country home called Bunya Hill after planting 150 Cypress Leylandii saplings trees to shield her house from celebrity spotters.

The reason the actress has gone to these lengths may be owing to a forthcoming wedding of her sister Antonia’s which is expected to take place at the luxury home before the end of 2010.
Tree rage has also seen neighbours complaining about ‘ugly’ 50m green nylon fence erected by the main gate and a 100m earth mound, both to shield the property from the main road. Disgruntled neighbours say that the trees can grow to an immense height – up to 20m high and 8m wide – and turn into an eyesore.

Greg Barnsley who lives nearby says: “They grow to an enormous height. Yes these ones are small now but they are going to be huge. They are out of character with the area; they are not even Australian natives. We respect that Nicole wants her privacy but if she wants trees let them be Australian ones.”
Meanwhile, Nicole has been staying in Sydney with her parents Anthony and Janelle, along with her husband Keith Urban and daughter Sunday Rose, one.

She has also taken Sunday on a rare visit to Antonia and her four children at her home in the city. The family is expected to retreat to the Bunya Hill property soon for the rest of the holidays.
