Celebrity gossip does not get better than this after a highly private romance
and six months of wedded bliss, James Bond star Daniel Craig and his wife,
actor Rachel Weisz, have bought an $11.5 million property in Manhattan.
The couple have spent ã7.5 million
on the penthouse in New York City after an exhaustive search for a marital
home, according to reports in the New
York Post.
Weisz ââ¬Ëcommitted to raising her son in New Yorkââ¬â¢
Craig, who will play James Bond
for the third time in 2012ââ¬â¢s Skyfall,
married fellow British actor Rachel Weisz in a private ceremony in New York six
months ago. Now, the couple have
decided to make Manhattan their home, partly to be close to Weiszââ¬â¢s son.
Until recently, Weisz lived in
New York with her former partner, Black
Swan director Darren Aronofsky.
The film maker is also the father of her five-year-old son, Henry. According to Marie Claire, when the couple split in November 2010, ââ¬Ëa
representative said that Rachel Weisz and Aronofsky would ‘remain close friends
and are committed to raising their son together in NYC.’ââ¬â¢
Luxury penthouse boasts huge outside roof terrace with kitchen and
media room
Craig, 43, and Weisz, 41, have
reportedly spent ã7.5 million on the 4,350 square foot mansion apartment in the cityââ¬â¢s
SoHo district. The couple have
spent months looking for the perfect overseas property and have splashed out on a three
bedroom penthouse with three bathrooms.
The property also boasts a 2,000
square foot private roof garden featuring its own media room, kitchen and
outside fireplace.
The couple recently starred
together in the Hollywood thriller Dream
House although have kept their romance very private. Their first public appearance as a
couple came in early 2012 at the Madrid premiere of Craigââ¬â¢s latest film, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
