Star Island is a 35 acre cay in the Bahamas that plans to be an eco-friendly resort with waterfront estates, a boutique hotel and a deep water marina. STAR stands for Sustainable Terrain and Resources and the resort is slated to be the world’s first sustainable, carbon neutral luxury resort.
There are 45 waterfront estates on which homes will be constructed on the island, and each home will have both solar panels and a wind turbine to provide power. There will be green space between each home as well as several sandy beaches to enjoy. The boutique hotel will offer 20 private bungalows as well as villas with full kitchens in which you can enjoy the view over the water.
The central gathering point of the island will be the marina and clubhouse. Guests and homeowners can enjoy the waterside restaurant, gourmet marketplace and luxury spa. There will also be swimming pools and lounges and a fitness center for everyone to keep active and healthy on what will surely be the greenest resort in the Bahamas.
Star Island is located off EleutheraIsland in the Bahamas. It is a 15 minute boat ride to NorthEleutheraAirport, which has flights to Nassau and Southern Florida.
