Actress Sandra Bullock said in a recent visit to Germany that she and her sister are trying to obtain German citizenship. The actress was in Munich where her latest film, The Proposal, was opening. The new film also co-stars Ryan Reynolds and, coincidentally, has a plot that address the citizenship of Bullock’s character.
Ms. Bullock was born to an American and a German opera singer and spent much of her youth growing up in Germany. “It would be wonderful if my sister and I could succeed. It is something my mother wished for her children,” she said. “Half of family is German,” she continued, noting that she was raised in Nuremburg for 12 years and speaks German.
At the same time, the Munich Film Festival was premiering hundreds of new movies across the city. The Munich film festival took place from June 26th through July 4th and featured over 200 films from around the world. The opening film was a preview of Terry Gilliam’s latest, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassis, which was the last movie that the late Heath Ledger appeared in.
