The international real estate website Homesgofast.com are shouting about an unusual destination in South America. The website that promotes overseas properties is asking international buyers to look at Punt Del Este Uruguay.
A small spit of land in southern Uruguay separates the Atlantic Ocean from the Rio de la Plata and it was once known as Cabo Santa Maria. Today it is called Punta del Este and it is one of the most popular resort destinations in South America. Despite its popularity, there are still some nice bargains to be had in town and on along the ocean, with some beach front homes going for less than US$100,000.It has beautiful beaches, luxurious resorts and hotels, fine restaurants, casinos and more.
Punta del Este is located about an hour and a half drive east of Montevideo and Carrasco International Airport (MVD). There are over 20 miles of beaches to enjoy, with the calmer ones on the bay side of the peninsula and the ones with bigger waves and more action on the Atlantic side. South American summers find the beaches packed with tourists from all over the world, and the marina is full of yachts and sailboats as well.
This popular holiday destination is also a great place for a second home. Both Uruguayan and international property seekers have made it one of the most well-known places to buy property in the country. Apartments in town can cost as much as $2,500 per square meter, and the market has been reasonably steady despite the economic problems seen elsewhere. It’s a perfect time to head south and find a holiday home in Uruguay, and Punta del Este is an ideal location.
