Lebanese entertainer and pop star Najoua Karam was onstage at the Carthage Amphitheatre as part of the 44th International Festival of Carthage. This year’s festival runs from July 11 to August 23 and is hosting many international singers and stars as well as highlighting the music and culture of the host country, Tunisia.
One of the biggest stars at this year’s Carthage Festival is Lebanese diva Najoua Karam, who performed to a full house at the old Roman amphitheatre. Karam began the concert by performing her song “Ezzek Dayem Ya Carthage” (Your Glory is Eternal, Oh Carthage). She delighted her audience with songs from her new album “Aam Imzah Maak” (I am Kidding with You) that was just released in the beginning of July and also sang many of her older songs.
Other upcoming shows including performances by Arab artists: Majda Erroumi on August 2, Nour Mhanna on the 5th of August, Hani Chaker on the 9th of August, Khadem Essaher on the 12th of August. Egyptian singer Angham will perform on the 15th of August. Shows by the Egyptian artist, Iman Bahr Darouiche, the Syrian ballet Inana of Jihed Mofleh as well as Algerian Rai music are also scheduled. These are just some of the international stars that will perform in addition to the traditional Tunisian musicians and performers.
In addition to the great music at the festival, there are plays and movies as well. The Al Abdellia Palace will host 22 shows, including 19 Tunisian shows. The final ceremony is set for Tunisian artist Ousama Farhat. The Carthage Amphitheatre is the other venue for the performances and is a showcase for the history of the country and region.
