The 02 Millennium Dome is up for grabs at what is believed to be a knock down price of a cool £35 million. The Dome which is now home to the London’s best concerts has gone from strength to strength since 02 took over the giant riverside building.
According to reports in The Telegraph the Millennium Dome, was put up for sale at the start of February it has attracted the lies of Tina Turner and will be home to a rare Michael Jackson concert in the summer
Located on the Greenwich Peninsula in south-east London, England, the exhibition opened to the public on 1 January 2000 and ran until 31 December 2000. The project and exhibition was the subject of considerable political controversy as it failed to attract the number of visitors anticipated, leading to recurring financial problems.
Meridian Delta Dome Limited (MDDL), a joint venture between the property companies Quintain Estates and Development and Lend Lease, plans to sell the 99-year lease on the 02, including the freehold to the arena itself and its surrounding leisure space.
Savills and Michael Elliott, the property agents, were appointed to market the site. According to a sale document sent to potential buyers of the O2, the maximum annual rent for the arena is just under £1.6m.
