Paris may be the place for the new David Beckham house,
according to reports from French TV and newspapers.

National media outlets last month joined in with the rumours
that the 36 year old footballer was looking for property in the French capital.
Agents were supposedly browsing the city’s real estate, as Beckham continues
his plans to move to Paris St Germain to end his footballing career.

“He’s already looking for an apartment in Paris,” Le Monde
said
, adding that an American agent was in charge of the search: “He wants a
triplex apartment in a beautiful Parisian building.”

A city of celebrity and culture

The Metro speculates that the perfect Victoria Beckham house
be on Rive Gauche, a prestigious area famed for its bookshops and libraries.

In
the past, people ranging from Ernest Hemingway to F. Scott Fitzgerald have resided
there, adding to the glamorous reputation of the region. Indeed, the golden-age of Parisian residents was recently celebrated by Woody Allen’s popular film, Midnight in Paris. The film saw a character transported back to the 1920s, when authors and artists gathered in the French capital at the cutting edge of culture.

It is this image of Paris that continues to draw celebrities to the city’s high-end property market, especially in places such as the Rive Gauche. But, The Metro adds, “[Victoria is probably] more interested in the
area’s designer shops than its literary tradition.”

The Beckhams already own another French property in the
South of the country, but Paris could well be the place for the new family
home.
