American actor George Clooney has been seen at his Lake Como, Italy home with a new Italian love interest, according to news reports. The perennial bachelor has been spotted with Sardinia model and television hostess Elisabetta Canalis.
The 30-year old brunette hosts the Italian version of MTV’s Total Request Live. The pair was first seen in Rome as Clooney and Canalis shared a romantic meal at the Gallura Restaurant after being introduce by friends. Several days later they were spotted riding around LakeComo on Clooney’s motorbike. He has a house on the lake and spends much of the summer there every year when not filming.
Clooney recently visited the Abruzzo region of Italy and the town of L’Aquila, where an earthquake struck in April. He promised to shoot a couple of movies in the region in the coming months to help get the local economy back on track.
“We’ll shoot a film here at the end of September, in which I will act,” he told reporters following his visit. “We’re here to draw attention to this tragedy.” He didn’t mention the name of the movie, but it is said to be called A Private Gentleman. He was there at the same time as the Group of 8 summit meeting that took place in early July.
