On the Aegean coast of Turkey is the resort destination of Altinkum, a property hotspot for investors and holiday travelers. This popular town is convenient to get to, has spectacular year-round weather and offers more to do than you can imagine.
Altinkum, whose name is translated as Golden Sand, sits on a peninsula that juts into the Aegean, and has plenty of beaches, which are the most popular draw for tourists and investors. The main beach is quite popular, with restaurants and hotels located right on the sand. Also around town are the beaches of Tuntas, Banana beach, and Sagtur, one of the nicest beaches in the area. While the area might be most well known as a beach resort, there are plenty of other things to see and do in the area.
Just a little way up the coast is the ancient town of Ephesus, which is a well-preserved city that has spectacular ruins from times past. There is also the popular Aqua Park in Didim, which is a great place to spend a day on holiday. Also not far from the town is the Temple of Apollo, an important ancient sanctuary that housed one of the oracles of Apollo. These are just a few or the many attractions that will keep holiday travelers and residents busy.
Altinkum is popular with both domestic and British buyers. There are currently some 9,500 foreign-owned properties in the area, and many are homes for Brits. The town has a wide choice of property all across the market, with about 75% of the housing stock made up of apartments. Very basic two-bedroom apartments generally start from around £25,000, while new-build and off-plan apartments are often on complexes with excellent facilities.
Located in the Didim Region of Turky, Altinkum is on the end of a beautiful peninsula with amazing views of the Aegean all around. It is just over an hour north of Bodrum and about the same distance south of Kusadesi. The closest airports are in Bodrum, Izmir and Dalaman, with Bodrum being the closest at approximately 95 kilometers.
