A luxurious beachfront project in Punta del Este, Uruguay recently sold one of its two penthouses for US$7.3 million to a buyer from Switzerland. The 34 unit Acqua is a new project designed by well known Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly and is his first project in his home country. The glass-walled property overlooks the beach and ocean along Uruguay’s coast and has stunning views from each unit.
According to the spokesperson for the project, it is now 50 percent sold, with most of the buyers coming from Europe. Prices for the exclusive properties start at €743,000. The lavish penthouse that was recently sold covers approximately 1,719 square meters and has a 74 square meter master suite and ocean views on three sides. There is a private swimming pool, home theatre, wine cellar and servant quarters as well.
In addition the magnificent penthouses – there are two of these, there are several other types of properties for sale at Acqua. There are manors, with private decks and pools, duplexes, each with a private terrace, and residences with their own private terraces. Punta del Este is often called the Riviera of Uruguay and is a popular holiday destination for South American celebrities and European jet setters.
