There is always a lot of worldwide interest
and excitement generated when there are celebrity houses for sale,
and over the last week, three of Hollywoodââ¬â¢s top actors have put their luxury
homes on the market.
First up is superstar power-couple Brad
Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who are thinning out their property portfolio by placing
their $13m Malibu mansion on the market.
Pictures of the luxurious beachside home were released to the world last week, and
while many would struggle to understand why two of Hollywoodââ¬â¢s wealthiest stars
would want part with such a stunning piece of real estate, Jolie and Pitt still
own several house in Los Angeles, New Orleans, France and Italy.
The second celebrity home belongs to actor
Chris Tucker. The Rush Hour star is lightening the property load, although his
celebrity house for sale is another instance of expensive real estate failing
to sell during a period of economic worry.
Tucker, whose abode includes a personal spa, an outdoor kitchen overlooking a
pool, and a basement outfitted to resemble a pirate ship, is currently
undergoing foreclosure proceedings as the result of a reported $4.4 million
being owed to the bank.
Ironically, Tucker’s luxury home was
one of eight shown during the ‘Street of Dreams’ event at the height of the
real-estate boom in 2006. Now, the actorââ¬â¢s
mansion has depreciated so much in value that it has an assessed worth of just
$1.6 million. The star of the Rush Hour series is set for a big
loss either way, as the luxury property market continues to frustrate sellers
and favour buyers.
