Property investors looking at Spain and its famed Costas have a new development to catch their eyes, the Costa Esuri Golf Resort. Begun in 2003, this massive development in Ayamonte, just a few kilometers from the border with Portugal, covers 6.5 million square meters of land and has 6,000 properties with two 18-hole golf courses.
Much of the Costa Esuri project has been completed, with over 3,000 properties finished and delivered to date. The first of the two championship golf courses designed by Jos Canales was unveiled in December, 2006 and the second one is set to open this month. A commercial and retail center is under way and will contain a number of restaurants, bowling alley and supermarket, as well as other shops and offices. Additionally, there are several major hotels that are under construction. The first, a 272-room five star hotel, is set to open in 2009.
Andrew Benitz is the director of western Costa del la Luz real estate agents Titan Properties and notes that “The majority of development infrastructure is now in place at Costa Esuri, from roads to children’s play areas, and the developers are now investing heavily in landscaping to the tune of 600,000 euros, planting hundreds of trees and plants around the site. They have also announced a 1,423-berth marina capable of accommodating superyachts alongside 40,000m² of commercial space, a Spa and nautical club which, when complete around the end of 2010, will outshine the likes of Vilamoura and Puerto Banús.”
Fully furnished two bedroom apartments start from just €160,000 with 5% guaranteed rental income for year one. Two bedroom townhouses within the resort start from just €194,000 with the same rental guarantee and furnishing package.
