Brazilian football/soccer star Ronaldo defied predictions once again to make his latest comeback, this time for Corinthians in Sao Paulo. The 32 year old former world footballer of the year has played for some of the most well-known clubs on the planet, including AC Milan and Real Madrid, and won the World Cup with his country. He has been out of the game for a year due to injuries he suffered while playing for Milan.

He made his return on March 4 for Corinthians, coming in as a late substitution against Itumbiara. He made his first start at home on March 12 against Sao Caetano, scoring his second goal for the team. While playing in front of the home crowd, Ronaldo started and played for 78 minutes.

For most of the match he was the center of attention for the fans, and he didn’t disappoint. In the 50th minute, Ronaldo scored off a cross to break a 1-1 deadlock and ensure the victory for Corinthians. The team is now second behind Palmeiras in the Sao Paulo state soccer championship, or Paulista.
