The world was shocked by the sudden death of legendary
singer Whitney Houston last week.
The 48 year old singer was found dead in a Beverley Hills hotel just
hours before a scheduled appearance at the Grammy awards.

The singer’s former marital home had been on the market for
three years and her estate agent believes that there may be renewed interest in
the home after the sad passing of the music legend.

Mansion up for sale
for $1.75 million

The Star reports
that ‘the walls of Whitney Houston’s New Jersey mansion — which has been up for
sale for the last three years — are rounded rather than square, which is
telling because it’s here her life spiralled out of control.’

The huge property has been for sale since 2009.  It was originally listed for $2.5
million (£1.6 million) but is now available for $1.75 million (£1.1 million)
after failing to sell.  The
property is 12,561 square feet and sits on a five acre, rural plot.  Houston listed the house exclusively
with estate agent Robert Cross three years ago because the agent specialises in
celebrity homes.

Cross says the gated home “has undeniable celebrity lineage,
history and patina.”

Houston’s tragic
death may renew interest in home

Houston married singer Bobby Brown in the property which she
had custom built at the height of her fame.  The five bedroom, five bathroom property also provided the
backdrop for the Bravo reality show Being
Bobby Brown
where Houston’s addictions first became apparent.

Cross admitted that “maybe that’s why it’s been hard to sell.”  And, the agent admitted that Houston’s tragic
death may renew interest in the sprawling home.  However, he added that “no matter what the lineage, people
won’t buy it if it’s too expensive.”
