Overseas property portal Homesgofast.com reports a surge of interest in its UK and overseas property by Indian investors. The majority (47 %) of registrations for a recently launched UK distressed properties service came from Indian based property investors.

Homesgofast.com is working with Cinch Properties Group who specialize in sourcing residential and commercial distressed properties across the UK. Homes are being sold for various reasons including, repossessions, relocation and other personal and financial reasons. The availability of below market value property changes quickly and the properties are not being advertised on the internet. Registered investors need deposits available and to be in a position to buy quickly

Nicholas Marr director at Homesgofast.com ‘Indian and non resident Indian investors have always made a large percentage of our database. These investors were primarily interested in UAE and Egypt, the UK has now shot to the top of the list for many Indian buyers. The UK house price falls combined with the rise in distressed sales means that the UK is ripe for property investment. Many are seeking properties at below market value in the Midlands and London areas of England and want them to be easy to let”

The rise of the Indian buyer is also one of the subjects being raised at  this years Overseas Property Professional Live (OPP Live) event taking place on 25th and 26th November 2008 at London’s Excel.

OPPLive is an annual business-to-business conference and exhibition attended by property professionals from all over the world.  It is being billed as where the industry’s most influential people come to learn about new business practices and market trends.

The seminar taking place at OPP highlights the trend in Indian buyers and acknowledges that there is increasing equity wealth of both domestic and non-resident Indians. The seminar will give an insight into how best property developers and agents should market to Indian and non resident Indian buyers and investors.
