Gibraltar’s Ocean Village Development recently won three international awards for the design of its buildings from CNBC. The complex won for Best High Rise Architecture, Best Interior Design and Best Apartment in the Europe and Africa Property Awards for 2008. The awards will be presented at a celebration in London on September 27 at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, and will make Ocean Village eligible for Best in the World awards.
Ocean Village is a multi-use development that includes villas, apartments, a marina, business space, retail shopping, restaurants and a casino. Royal Ocean Plaza is the building that won for Best High Rise. It has 16 floors of luxurious residences with over 100 apartments, each with spectacular views from individual terraces all around.
Gibraltar was selected for Ocean Village because of its unique combination of location, climate, local environment and tax regime. As one of the most prestigious developments in Southern Europe, Ocean Village has the unique advantage of stunning views in all directions – the Bay and Straits of Gibraltar, the Atlas mountains and Africa, the marina, the Mediterranean and the Rock itself.
‘We are absolutely delighted to have beaten off stiff international competition to win these awards. The fact that Ocean Village earned not one but three of these most coveted tributes shows that Gibraltar not only competes with the best that Europe & Africa can offer but also prevail in this highly competitive property arena,’ said Gregory Butcher, Chairman of Ocean Village.
