A new under construction near Murcia CitySpain is set to boost the local economy and make the area more accessible both to holiday makers and overseas property owners. It is being tipped as a good place to buy Spanish property by property expert Nicholas Marr and Taylor Wimpey de Espana.
The airport has been subject to delays but is now due for opening by the end of late summer this year.
The airport is expected to triple the number of visitors to the area. It will have the positive affect of increasing competitive flight prices and also increasing rental incomes in the areas for landlords. Spanish media reports suggest the creation of 20,000 jobs, 15,000 new hotel beds and visits from almost three million tourists each year
Ignacio Osle, Sales & Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey de España comments: “Rental occupancy should definitely show an increase after the opening of the airport although it is very hard to state hard figures in a market like this. The Costa Blanca has been through a challenging period but seeing the Government and financiers investing in the infrastructure of the province is immensely reassuring for both current and prospective property owners.

The region of Murcia lies to the south of Valencia and is thinly populated except in the areas around the rivers. The city of Murcia is described as one of the most beautiful and historic in the country. The city stands on the banks if the river and enjoys all year round sunshine. It has the highest temperatures in the region. There is a great deal of Moorish influence in the city, not least of all the impressive city walls.
