Two international airlines recently announced new service to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, increasing the emirates’ attractiveness as an international destination for businesspeople, holiday travelers and international real estate investors. Germany’s Lufthansa Airlines, which already flies to Dubai daily from Frankfurt, announced new service from Munich. Additionally, Indian carrier Jet Airways announced flights to Abu Dhabi from Mumbai and Delhi, and is in negotiations to fly directly to Dubai.

Lufthansa German Airlines will fly six times a week from Dubai to Munich beginning on May 1, 2008. It will use its A319 Business Executive Jet service in an all Business class configuration. Everyday except Wednesdays, the LH 639 flight will depart Dubai at 7:45am and arrive in Munich at 12:10pm and everyday except Tuesdays the LH638 will depart Munich at 21:30 pm and arrive in Dubai at 5:30am next morning. This adds to Lufthansa’s existing daily flight from Dubai to Frankfurt onboard the Boeing 747.

Jet Airways will launch two direct daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai and Delhi on April 23, and is waiting for the negotiations to conclude for launching routes from Dubai as well. From Dubai, the price of a one-way economy ticket to Mumbai will be Dhs450 and a return ticket will be Dhs1,000, and to Delhi it will cost Dhs500 and Dhs1,100, respectively.
