Morocco’s first family-friendly resort, called Al Johara or The Jewel, is set on 156 acres just 20 minutes from Marrakech. Marrakech has become a popular destination for younger couples and trend-setters, with its exotic restaurants, winding old streets and new hotels. Now, families can enjoy Morocco and still be near the popular city with Al Johara.
Award-winning architect Elie Mouyal is designing this new luxury resort and residential development, which will offer everything a family could want, from nearby golfing and sports to the 11 swimming pools on the property. Other family friendly aspects of this new Moroccan development include an equestrian center, with rides into the nearby Atlas Mountains, regular live entertainment, an open-air cinema, and game room. There will be food for a wide variety of tastes in a number of restaurants from fast-food to gourmet sit-down. There will also be a children’s club and day care so parents can go enjoy the attractions of nearby Marrakech whenever they want.
In addition to everything else, there will be a 150-room five star hotel on the property for those who just want to visit. The hotel and resort includes a spa, clubhouse, fitness center, par three golf course and a whole host of other sporting activities available. The new resort is expected to be complete by 2013, and pre-release prices for units are now available.
