The 12th European Dance Festival is taking place in Cyprus through the end of June. The Festival began on June 7 with performances taking place at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol and at the Pallas Theatre in Nicosia.
The countries that are performing in this year’s festival are Italy, Sweden, Hungary, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Austria, Finland, Portugal and Cyprus. The festival is a feast of contemporary dance that has representative groups and performances from each of the attending nations.
The European Dance Festival is organized and hosted by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Rialto Theatre. It is considered one of the most important dance meetings in Europe. In previous years the performances have all been at the Rialto Theatre, but this year some of them will be at the Pallas Theatre in Nicosia.
