It could well be the next trend in modern luxury living, property developers that build spaces for private aircraft parking seem to be on the increase in Thailand. It has now two new projects that will see homes being built with the added space for owners who own small private planes.
One of the central provinces of Thailand at Samut Sakhon will be home to a millionares dream the Best Ocean Airpark which offers 62 single-detached houses each with private parking for a small plane and direct access to the development’s own airfield.
Scheduled for completion in 2013 and developed by Best Ocean Golf, the Bt10 billion project also includes a luxury hotel and a 54-hole golf course with clubhouse, all on a 2,800 rai plot on Rama II Road in Samut Sakhon’s Muang district.
Sittichai Jareonkhajornkul, owner and board chairman of Best Ocean Golf, admitted Thailand´s property market had dropped significantly in the final quarter of 2008, however, he said that by including a private airfield and aeroplane parking, the project was focusing on a niche market.
“We have only 62 detached houses priced from Bt16 million (approx GBP 303,000) to Bt29 million each. Each one features parking for a small private aircraft out in front,” he said.
“Ours is only the second project in Thailand to offer aeroplane parking in front of the house, with access to an 800-metre runway.”
The first project of this type was the Pattaya Country Club.
“We believe our project will attract customers who love adventure, especially sport flying. Tom Claytor, a renowned bush pilot who has been featured by the National Geographic Society, is our adviser on this project,” said Sittichai.
