Poland has seen a huge jump in new golf courses over the past few years and one of the best is located just outside Krakow in the southern part of the country. The Krakow Golf and Country Club has been rated as one of the best courses in Europe by several organizations and is now offering housing for sale, making it a great opportunity to get a home in this beautiful outdoor resort area. The club is a year-round destination and recently hosted the 2008 Polish Seniors Championship, part of the European Seniors Tour, which was won by legendary Welsh golfer Ian Woosnam.
The course, located in the town of Paczółtowice, about 30 kilometers east of downtown Krakow, is laid out over a forested and rolling landscape. The wide fairways are guarded by massive bunkers near the greens, making it challenging for many but playable by all.
In addition to the 18-hole championship golf course, Krakow Valley also has a 6-hole practice course, golf academy, driving range and putting green. There is a shooting range and horse stables as well for those who want an all-around experience. In winter the course is open to cross-country skiers and has a ski lift, making it a great year-round resort.
The club has its own restaurant and lodge for visitors, and is now is in the midst of construction on a set of apartments and villas in the Valley Golf Village. These units are scheduled for completion by the end of 2009 and range from 52.5 square meters to 140 square meters, each with an underground garage and a sunny terrace offering great views of the course and valley. Prices start from £139,000. This is a great opportunity for golfers in Eastern Europe to get into one of the best courses anywhere.
