Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, took some time out and headed to a Mexican resort last week. News reports in a range of media, including UsMagazine.com, People Magazine and the New York Daily News among others, all showed the couple in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Cabo San Lucas is at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula along the west coast of Mexico. It is one of the most popular Mexican resorts, rivaling Cancun on the opposite coast. It is a bit more secluded and not as commercialized, but it is a great place to get away for a weekend – which is exactly what Romo and Simpson. Along with a few other Cowboys and Simpson’s parents, they visited the resort for three days over the first weekend of 2008.

The group flew into Cabo San Lucas airport, arriving in a private jet on January 3rd. They had a rented home in a gated community for their stay in town, and by all reports had a great time during their visit. Rental properties are a great way to enjoy this holiday hot spot, and there are also lots of resort properties here as well.

Simpson and Romo left the Mexican resort on Sunday afternoon. Romo and his teammates spent last week preparing to face the New York Giants in a key American football playoff game. It didn’t seem as if the getaway helped the quarterback or his fellow Cowboys, as they lost to the Giants and are done for the season.
