Several high-profile events are taking place in the Algarve this weekend and next. If you are spending the weekend in this beautiful part of the world, this is a great opportunity to see some stars and have some fun. Or, if you don’t have plans, it’s just a quick flight to enjoy the famed Portuguese holiday region.
Former England rugby star Jason Robinson, who was just appointed coach of the Sale Sharks, will be in the region on Saturday, July 3rd to host a free rugby clinic. The free one-hour clinic is open to everyone between the ages of 12 and 18 and will start at 4pm. It takes place at Browns Sports and Leisure Club in Vilamoura. Friends and family are invited to come and watch.
Browns is a warm weather training resort that is a popular destination for athletes, teams and fans. It’s location in the Algarve provides great year-round weather for people to come and get in shape and learn about their sports and favorite players.
Also happening this Saturday is the sixth Sir Bobby Robson Celebrity Golf Classic at he Vila Sol Vilamoura Spa and Golf Resort. The lineup of 120 players includes Harry Redknapp, Steve Bruce, Ron Atkinson and plenty of other current stars and former pros.
Another celebrity event takes place next weekend and also hopes to raise money for a worthy cause. The Charity Golf Classic will run from July 9-12 at the Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort and has a whole host of stars on hand to raise money for cancer research.
