The well-known architectural firm of Herzog & de Meuron have been commissioned to design three new mixed use towers in the heart of London. The new project is planned for the area around the London Bridge underground station, with specifics set to be announced soon.
The Swiss-based firm has designed a number of renowned projects around the globe, including the Bird’s Nest stadium in Beijing and London’s Tate Modern Art Museum. The new London project is being developed by Sellar Property Group and will be near the Shard of Glass tower, also being developed by Sellar.
The three towers are expected to include 380 apartments and the tallest building will rise 65 stories above London. They will also have a hotel, retail space and cinemas. The three towers are currently planned at 100 meters, 200 meters and 250 meters, and the Shard will be 310 meters tall when complete.
