Aquapuro DouroValley is the first resort development in the heart of the Douro Region of Portugal. It combines 17 villas for sale overlooking the DouroRiver with a resort hotel and luxury spa. The villas are carved out of 8 hectares of land in the former vineyard and estate Quinta de Bale Abraao.

The Douro region is in north central Portugal and is most well known for its wines, which have been produced here for nearly 2,000 years. The region became a Unesco World Heritage site in 2001 and is about an hour and a half drive east of Porto. The area is becoming increasingly popular for property investors, including those from abroad, but there isn’t much available for sale. This new development will help to see what kind of demand there is for luxury property in the region.

The villas are one, two and three bedroom units and range in size from 102 square meters to 252 square meters. Prices begin at €460,000 for a one bedroom property, and the only three-bedroom villa overlooks the vineyard and is listed for €825,000. There are pools and gardens with some units, though not all and buying options include quarter and half ownerships.

The hotel resort opened in 2007 with 50 rooms and three restaurants. There is also a 2,200 meter spa, and the property is being developed by Aquapura Hotels.
