American real estate tycoon Donald Trump recently announced that he was about to move into the Indian market. His first move will be to construct a 47 story high rise luxury residential tower in the heart of Bangalore and will cost some 500 crore rupees.
The new project is set for construction on a one acre site at the intersection of Brigade Road and Residency Road near the central business district. Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, will be heading up the company’s work in India. The company is in the midst of setting up an office in Mumbai and looking for other opportunities within the fast growing Indian real estate sector.
Residential condos will begin on the 25th floor and there will also be a signature Trump restaurant, spa and health club. Plans currently call for 16 condos and 3 penthouses. The large condos will cover some 7,000 square feet while the penthouses will be around 9,000 square feet. There will also be sky gardens for the penthouses.
Bangalore is seeing a significant amount of new development and Trump’s venture is by no means the only new project in the works. On a more affordable scale, the Commune residential project has also been announced. This new development will offer 2 bedroom apartments from 900-1120 square feet in size and be much more affordable than the Trump residences. Whichever end of the market you are looking at in India, Bangalore has plenty to offer.
