Talk show star Ellen de Generes
and her wife Portia de Rossi have put their stunning Beverley Hills property up
for sale after admitting that they have ‘lost track’ of the number of
properties they have bought over the years.

The stunning estate sits in just
under 3 acres and has undergone significant extension and renovation since the
couple bought the property.

Stunning Beverley Hills estate up for sale

The 53 year old star and her 38
year old wife bought the property for a cool $30 million before buying up
surrounding properties in order to increase the size and scope of the
estate.  The property now sits on
2.87 acres on its own street in the prestigious Coldwater Canyon area.

De Generes has now put the property
up for sale with a $49 million (£31.25 million) price tag although the Daily Mail reports that the pair have
shelled out about $48 million to assemble the estate over the last four
years.

The property was originally built
for the actor Laurence Harvey and has also been the home of Joan Collins and Will & Grace co-creator Max
Mutchnick, who is a close friend of the couple, and helped design the property.

De Rossi told Architectural Digest: “We’d heard how
beautiful it was and then we came over to watch American Idol.  We
pulled into the driveway and we just knew before we even walked through the
gate.”

The official listings of the
estate read: ‘The compound includes a 9,200 square foot main house, two
guesthouses totalling about 15,000 square feet, a three bedroom house, and
every conceivable amenity and state-of the-art security.’

The listing comes after the
couple have recently sold another of their properties.  De Generes and de Rossi’s Hidden Valley
home – a holiday home with stables and cabins – recently sold for $16 million
(£10.2 million).
