The Bom Sucesso Design Resort in Obidos, Portugal is one of the most ambitious projects of its kind. This new resort is based around an 18-hole championship golf course with unique housing and plenty of protections for the natural environment. The housing that is going up is being designed by 23 of the most well-known Portuguese and foreign architects and will be spread out over the development.
In addition to its unique development, Bom Sucesso is proving to be a major sponsor of local activities and events. Recently the novaOgiva Gallery in Obidos opened an exhibition associated with the BS Design Center set of activities. The launch is the first of a number of initiatives to highlight the future construction by Acordo – Obidos of the BS Design Centre in “Aldeamento Sul”, one of the three ‘villages’ being created at the BOM SUCESSO – Design Resort, Leisure, Golf & Spa. The BS Design Centre is being designed by the renowned architect Alvaro Siza Vieira in an area of 300 square meters.
The new show running at the novaOgiva Gallery through February 3, 2008 features Angelo de Sousa’s Silver work and is mentioned in the most recent edition of Portugal’s House Traders magazine.
This one-of-a-kind development is located alongside the Óbidos Lagoon and has a large nature reserve to provide unparalleled opportunities for outdoor activities as well as some of the best homes available anywhere.
Bom Sucesso is being constructed on over 1.5 million square meters and will contain 601 residences in both villas and townhouses, in phases I and II. There will also be a five-start hotel with spa, swimming pools, and the 18-hole Donald Steel golf course. The housing is being designed by remarkable names as Siza Vieira, Souto Moura, David Chipperfield and Goncalo Byrne. Each architect is designing a set of homes that will highlight their specific styles and tastes. These homes all follow contemporary lines and fit in to the larger environment, providing the owners with uniquely styled residences of the highest quality.
