There is a limited market for
multi-million pound properties which is why it’s no surprise that celebrities
often buy homes from one another. And, for superstar musician Alicia Keys, this
has proved to be something of a habit.

The Grammy winning star is rumoured
to be in contract to buy Eddie Murphy’s Englewood estate having previously
bought a Manhattan penthouse from Lenny Kravitz. Keys and her husband, hip-hop
star Swizz Beatz, could be about to buy Eddie Murphy’s Englewood, New Jersey
home, according to the NY Daily News.

Keys to buy 7 bedroom estate for £7.4 million

It is reported that Keys is set
to buy the gated estate in order to provide a family home for her nearly two
year old son having listed her SoHo apartment in March for $17.95 million
(£11.13 million).

The property sits on almost four
acres in a quiet retreat and, according to NBC News, is ‘both a suburban
retreat and a quick drive to New York; it’s only a few minutes away from the
George Washington Bridge.’

The 13,076-square-foot home in
Englewood’s East Hill area has 7 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. A circular drive
leads to the front of the Georgian-style home and it features a five car
garage, gym and tennis court.

The interior boasts a pool,
bowling alley, racquetball court, art deco movie theatre and a professional
recording studio.

Murphy, the star of Trading Places, Shrek and Doctor Dolittle
has been trying to sell the estate for over five years. Originally listed for
$30 million (£18.6 million), the Hollywood star reduced the price to $19
million (£11.8 million) in 2007 and $15.9 million (£9.8 million) in 2010. According
to the Daily News, Keys will spend about $12 million (£7.4 million) on the
estate.
