El Margen is a small hamlet which has a few restaurants and bars between the villages of Galera and Cullar. It is around ten minutes drive to either Galera or Cúllar villages which have all of the usual amenities such as bars, restaurants, shops, a post office, a medical centre, a swimming pool open during the summer months, a pharmacy, a school, etc. as well as a weekly market.

​I​t is around 1h30 drive away from the coast and there are various beach areas at Lake Negratin in Freila which is approximately 45 minutes ​b​y car (60km).
