The small village of Costa d’en Blanes is only separated from Portals Nous by the motorway. But as it is clearly located higher than Portals Nous, one has a fantastic view to the city and the marina and can look alongside the whole coast from Palma up to Magaluf. In the place with approximately 2000 inhabitants, one beautiful villa follows the next one. The slightly lower situated regions of Costa d’en Blanes also have direct access to the sea.
The name van Costa d’en Blanes actually refers to the former owners of the land in this area. The whole area belonged to the Blanes family. Even today, much of the land west of Mallorca is still owned by the heirs of this family. Many street names in the village are derived from the name of the founding family.
