The Architects
Manuel Graca Dias has written a wide variety of articles, critique and presentations regarding architecture in the specialized press (since 1978), and has been invited to a great number of conferences, both in Portugal and abroad;
Egas Vieira received 2nd prize in the invitation to tender for the enlargement of the Headquarters of the Engineering Society in Lisbon (1987), in association with Pedro Ucha.
Together Manuel Graca Dias and Egas Vieira were awarded the AICA/Ministry of Culture Prize (Architecture), in 1999, for their work. EJV received 2nd prize in the invitation to tender for the enlargement of the Headquarters of the Engineering Society in Lisbon (1987), in association with Pedro Ucha.

"Looking at the desire for individualism and privacy which bestows to this type of innovation, we plan to ‘forge’ within a perfect peripheral a banal ‘L’ shaped structure, that will articulate in a comfortable form coherently with programmed requisites. A circle is the most autonomous shape of all; (two circles set side by side will only have one common point)."

The Location
The villa is part of Bom Sucesso Design Resort Leisure Golf and Spa.
The Design resort presents the most ambitious project ever planned for a luxury tourist resort. Built over an area covering 1 576 210 sqm, Bom Sucesso will contain 601 houses – both villas and townhouses – a hotel with a Spa, an 18 hole Championship golf course, an unparalleled range of facilities and a large ecological reserve.
It was developed as a model of excellence, with contemporary architecture as the cornerstone of its concept strategy. A group of highly qualified architects, both Portuguese and foreign, developed an innovative concept; contemporary architecture blended into the landscape.
Portugal's Directorate-General for Tourism (DGT) has classified the resort Bom Sucesso with a five-star classification. This classification refers to the total 601 units of the complex (villas or townhouses) and represents a crucial advantage in relation to the rental of the tourism units.
Golf at Bom Sucesso
The resort benefits from an 18 hole Championship Golf Course stretching along the length of the resort shaping the housing centres, the Hotel & SPA and the other leisure facilities. The golf course, designed by the world-renowned architect Donald Steel is projected to be open in the spring of 2008. It was constructed by Nigel Ely, currently the Chairman of the British Association of Golf Course Constructors
